Meres (Pazarcık)

This group is dedicated to the place Meres (Pazarcık) – a part of our history, homeland and memory.
In special memory of Engin Sincer, known as Erdal Sincer, one of the most steadfast resistance fighters from this region. His courage, determination, and dedication to Kurdish freedom will never be forgotten.
This group invites everyone who feels connected to Meres, wants to share memories or exchange ideas about culture, origins and history.

Dersim

This group is dedicated to the people of Dersim – a place full of history, dignity, and resistance. Dersim was not only geographically remote, but also spiritually free. Amidst the mountains, a culture grew that is deeply rooted in Alevism, the Zaza language, and centuries-old traditions of solidarity, education, and courage.

The people of Dersim are considered particularly education-oriented, warm-hearted, and critically minded. From an early age, they resisted oppression and fought for self-determination – often at a high price. This group is a place for exchange, remembrance, and connection – for all those who have their roots there or who feel a connection to Dersim's culture.

Amed (Diyarbakir)

Amed – the heart of Kurdistan. This ancient city, whose roots reach back to antiquity, is a symbol of Kurdish identity and unwavering resistance. The historic old town of Sur was the scene of intense clashes in 2015–2016, resulting in many deaths and extensive damage to the cultural heritage. Despite this destruction, Amed remains a center of Kurdish culture, language, and political activity. This group provides a space for discussion about the history, culture, and current developments in Amed.

Qamishlo (Rojava)

Qamishlo – a place of change and hope. On March 12, 2004, the city became the starting point of a significant uprising, considered the precursor to the Rojava Revolution. Today, Qamishlo is the administrative center of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. The city stands for living diversity, self-government, and the development of a democratic society. In this group, experiences, stories, and information about Qamishlo and the Rojava region can be shared.

Mahabad (Eastern Kurdistan)

Mahabad – a historical symbol of the Kurdish dream of self-determination. On January 22, 1946, the Republic of Kurdistan was proclaimed here, a bold step toward independence. Although the republic only existed for eleven months, Mahabad remains a significant chapter in Kurdish history. This group serves to commemorate the Republic of Mahabad and to promote exchange about the history and culture of Eastern Kurdistan.

Culture & Life

Culture & Life – A space for our senses, our stories, our hearts

This space is a home for everything that brings our culture to life.
Here our memories meet the present, our voices meet our songs, our tastes meet our language.

Kitchen & Enjoyment
Here, we share what's on our tables at home—from traditional dishes like yaprakh, xirabe, sile, and sorbe to modern interpretations and family recipes that carry the flavor of our heritage. Food connects—even from afar.

Music & Dance
Whether Dengbêj or modern pop from Sulaymaniyah, whether folkloric dances like Govend or the rhythms of the younger generation – music is our emotional compass. In this space, we share playlists, memories of song recitals, and invite you to discover new sounds.

Literature & Poetry
Our words carry weight. Our poems carry generations. Here is space for great Kurdish poets, for book recommendations, for your own lines – a space to read, write, and feel.

Generations in Dialogue – Bridges between Memory and Future

In this space, worlds connected by blood, but shaped by time and experience, meet.
Here grandparents, parents and young people talk – not about each other, but with each other.

Parents & grandparents
They carry within them the stories of a lost country – of villages that no longer exist, of languages that were forbidden to them, and of a resistance that often began in silence.
They talk about education in the diaspora, about values they want to pass on – and about the wounds they don’t show.
Their words are archives – their memories are living history.

Youth & Future
They were born or raised in Europe – with two hearts in their chests.
They dream of study places, projects, companies – but also of justice, visibility and a free Kurdistan.
They ask not only what was, but what can be.
Their visions are bridges, their questions are courage for change.

“Generations in Dialogue” is not an easy space – but a necessary one.
It is a place for honest conversations, for mutual learning, for respect – and perhaps also for reconciliation between old and new, homeland and diaspora, memory and hope.

Special topics – art, creativity & encounters

Not everything can be put into words – some things have to be felt, seen, experienced.
This space is about the forms of expression that keep our culture alive – beyond news and debates.
“Special Topics” is a place for creativity, leisure and exchange in a new way.

Arts & Crafts
From the artfully knotted carpets of our grandmothers to the modern photography of young creatives – art connects times, places and people.
Here we share pictures, sketches, craft techniques and the stories behind them.
Art as a bridge between memory and future.

Sports & Leisure
Movement creates encounters.
Whether it’s football, hiking, dancing or watching a movie together – free time means more than just relaxation.
It strengthens our community, promotes cohesion and creates space for lightness and laughter.
Organize your idea here – or find like-minded people who want to start something with you.

Politics & Society – Thinking Together, Shaping Together

"A people without a voice will be forgotten, a people with dignity will be heard."

When we speak, we bring not only our opinions, but also our stories, our experiences and our hopes into the world.
This space is a place for reflection, listening, and courageous speaking – for all who want to understand the present and help shape the future.

Here we discuss:

Current events in all parts of Kurdistan

Developments in the Diaspora: Integration, Racism, Participation

Women in political movements

Social change through education and engagement

History, memory and new narratives

Youth, new perspectives and ways of participating

Politics does not begin in large spaces – it begins in small groups, between friends, in community.
Let us create a space here together that does not divide but unites.
A place where respect, dignity and free thought are at home.

Open Lounge – Where conversations begin and connections grow

"Dilê vekirî, heval û ax û avê ye."

An open heart is friendship, earth and water all at the same time.

Meaning: Where the heart is open, connection arises – something as fundamental and vital as the ground beneath one’s feet and water for life.

Sometimes you don’t need a special reason, no fixed direction, just a feeling:
The need to exchange ideas. To simply be there. To be heard.

The Open Lounge is our shared living room – digital, but full of warmth.
A place for spontaneous conversations, new acquaintances and quiet moments in between.

There’s room for everything here:

A quick “Hello, where are you from?”

Stories from everyday life in the diaspora

Plans for the weekend or the tip for the best Kurdish shop in your city

Virtual coffee dates, spontaneous ideas, shared laughter

Not everything has to be political, not every encounter has to be profound – but each one can be meaningful.
Because community often begins precisely where people simply meet.

Come in, sit back and say what's on your mind.
