My story
Education is the weapon of resistance.
My name is Savas Balaban – born on November 18, 1983 in Mainz, the son of a family deeply rooted in the Kurdish liberation struggle.
I'm not an academic with degrees, but a person with a lived history. My school was the streets, my university the resistance.
I learned early on: liberation doesn’t begin with institutions – it begins in the mind.
My story
Growing up in the tension between Kurdish rebellion and everyday German life, my life was political from the beginning.
Demonstrations, leaflets, meetings – I didn’t just observe, I lived, felt, argued.
In our family, it was never a question of whether to get involved – but rather how.
These experiences did not make me hard, but rather awake.
They showed me that true learning does not begin in the classroom, but in dealing with reality.
That words can change – if they come from conviction.
Why Evin
Evin is not a project. It's an attitude.
A platform for all those who no longer want to remain silent.
For people who are not content with mere existence, but demand a dignified life – with a voice, visibility and self-determination.
With Evin, I'm creating a space where our stories are not just told, but remembered. A place where critical thinking is celebrated. A digital home for the Kurdish diaspora and all those committed to justice.

I'm not someone who stays in the background. I'll be out on the street when necessary – and I'll sit at my laptop at night when it comes to strategy.
I combine political will and creative fire. My daily life is born from coffee, analysis, and action.
